Neckties are stupid.
I hate ties. they are just stupid, a brightly colored cloth, wrapped around the male neck and tied in a specific windsor knot, a different one for every day.

Hey, nice tie Todd! Thanks Dan, yours is nice too. Love the tie Mr. Davis!

A tie is a phallic symbol. a tie is a sign of being in a club. All respectable men wear ties. people sound more believable when they wear a nice tie.

What the hell is a necktie anyway?

Necktie hating in flyover land.

1. a neck tie gives women something to hang on to
when she wants to strangle a man who says something really stupid. It just levels the male/female playing field. :bounce:

It creates confusion and slowness of the mind. Why do you think business men almost all become assholes at one point or another? :silly:

4. I always thought of a tie as the way for men to
"individualize" their professional uniform. Everyone wears the black, gray or dark blue suit and a buttoned-down shirt. The tie is what makes you different from everyone else.

11. Yeah, that's how I see them too.
A way to jazz up your boring, button-down wardrobe. I happen to think that ties enhance a man's appearance and are really quite hot. :loveya:

Of course, having to wear one would totally suck. But so does wearing panty hose and high heels. :(

19. I have worn men's ties before and have no problem wearing them
but then again, I don't think I wore it as tight as most men think they have to wear them.

Panty hose are nasty. Nylon doesn't breathe. I'll take a tie to nylon hose ANYDAY! (I'm betting most men would too.)

38. We're down to polo shirts for the guys (+ trousers)...
My former employer (railroad) required ties. At one point, the CEO even ordered that you put on your jacket (!) whenever you left your office, even if it was just to go down the hall. :eyes:

Railroads remain the high-tech of the nineteenth century.

I would have envisioned a bunch of guys walking around in polo shirts and their undies (or even going commando - :scared:)

Wow - putting your jacket on just to go to the restroom? That's damned impressive!

How's tricks, darlin'? I miss seeing you around!

you know the ones I mean, all the men wear these weenie extenders about 3 feet long, stabalized by a rope around their neck.

A necktie is a phallic symbol stating, "see, see my brightly colored fully erect penis"?

how very male primatey.

21. Oh, a tie lover eh?
I used to wear them, years ago, but my neck is so big and I could find no shirts to fit me, and tying the tie always choked me. Tried clip ons, but it was the shirts and the ties that bugged me.

Drifted into dickies and turtle necks, and finally gave up ties forever and have not looked back in regret.

Free Yourself from the oppressive necktie!

I don't see it as any better or any worse than the thousands of other styles we choose to wear in an attempt to advertise ourselves. Heck, it's no different than a tattoo (other than one can take the tie off at the end of the day and laugh at the 'trendy' choice ten years later).

I truly enjoy wearing my Three Stooges tie whenver possible...

Ties give a nice "Finished" look to the outfit. Besides were already letting you get away with trousers in place of proper Britches and Stockings!:silly:

Seriously what you wear will have a significant impact on how people relate to you. The tie with or without suit coat / sport jacket, will change the way people relate to you. There are times when a suit and tie is exactly the thing to wear.
