I remember staying up late and seeing Queen's "We Are the Champions" and Rod Stewart's, "Hot Legs" videos.

Why didn't he start MTV???

1. Not all of Kirshner's show was video

Too much of it was, but he also had concert film. I caught bands on that show I probably otherwise would never have heard of, like Slade and Sparks.

There was also "In Concert," which ABC put up as competition for NBC's "Midnight Special." It was miles better, as it actually had concerts and not the one-song-and-maybe-an-encore-later of "Midnight Special." But it lasted only one season.
