One of his college chums was a writer/producer on a major TV crime series.
"Hey Xxxx, write me into one of your scripts. Make my namesake a real asshole."

He just got this e-mail:

"Hey, dude --

Good to hear from you! I tried emailing you when the XXXX episode was
coming on, but I guess I had an old address for you.

Yes, you'll be happy to know that your namesake is a bit of an asshole.
He's referred to in dialogue as "a hardass" -- in the episode he's
trying to put an eight-year-old girl in jail because she struck back at
a bully (and left him paralyzed). This was the third or fourth attempt
at getting Xxxx Xxxxxx, esq., into an episode, so I'm finally glad
I got it!

I've since left XXXX, though and am now on XXXXXXXXX. I've been
here about two months, and so far things seem to be going pretty well.
I still haven't written my first script, though, so I'll tell you how
that goes."

Now I want my 15 minutes.
