"Atheism is a non-Prophet organization."
I saw this on a church sign on my way home. What is the message supposed to be here?

3. I don't see why lack of a prophet is a bad thing.
I'd prefer not to have some old guy speaking cryptic riddles over my shoulder 24/7. Jus' sayin'.

7. Athiesm
We don't automatically give credence to the memoirs of a 1st century fisherman as he recalls what his carpenter friend said and did decades earlier just because you say it's true.

10. More accurately...
We don't give creedence to the writings of followers of the fisherman who followed the carpenter who may have said and did things decades earlier.

Despite the names, the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were not actually written by the apostles for which they're named.

I forget what it says right now, but it's always the typical stuff. Like, "CH CH. What's missing? U R."

Yeah, that'll make me get Jeebus. :eyes:

I'm sure Jeebus would be thrilled with the people making money off his image and his name. I especially like the t-shirts with him on it. I'll bet he loves that.

42. They are just trying to draw more lines to identify themselves by
Some people can't define themselves by their own beliefs, either because they aren't secure enough or else just don't really believe what they profess to believe. So instead of asking themselves "What is a Christian? What do I believe? Who am I at heart?" they define themselves by defining what they aren't. "I'm not an atheist--let's mock them. I'm not a liberal--let's mock them." That way they don't have to question whether their beliefs make sense, or run the risk of discovering they can't make sense out of their own faith. They just know other people are wrong, so they don't have to question whether they themselves are right.

Same reason Repubs attack Dems more than they defend themselves.

44. It means the church thinks we are lacking
because we don't have any "prophets" to give us wisdom and guidance. As if the scientists, philosophers, anthropologists, sociologists, psychologists, mathematicians and other scholars aren't enough for us.

45. well, you know, none of those educated people actually know anything.
I have a tender spot in my heart for simple folk who won't admit to themselves that there are things you can learn outside the county they grew up in, and that you actually grow dumber by putting in at least four years of hard work at one of those elitist public universities.
