My (not cockney) kid just informed me

Yesterday while we were in the kitchen cleaning up, she informed me she no longer wanted to be called Ruby and wished to be called "Rex"... and the next words out of her mouth were "Hey, are these the salad tossers?"

4. I had a Brit ask me recently why americans think that THEY say

"Cheerio" -- the best I could do was to say that it is in a song in "Oliver!" They are probably going for "cheers" but think that can't be right because it is the title of an American sit-com.
