24. absolutely evening primrose oil!
It is so good for a lot of things, definitely helps with PMS. If you find it to be a bit too expensive, try Blackcurrent seed oil capsules. They work too.

:loveya:

I don't know about there, but here blackcurrant capsules cost even more than EPO. They're also more difficult to find. :hi:

4. I f'n hope so!
One of my best friends just exploded with anger at me like a week ago for like no reason! It took her a few days to say, "Sorry, it was the day before my period and I was in a crazy mood."

14. There's something about soy
I swear...seem to recall it in connection with estrogen levels, and maybe in concert with (or antagonaistic to) the effects of wild yam extract in regulating everything.

Soy rings a very loud bell here, somehow...wish I could remember in what context. Something to do with perimenopause?

9. Interesting facfoid: Men are on similar 4 week cycles
Men typically endure the same psychological symptoms and mood swings as women, and on a similar cycle unrelated to menstration.

Another interesting fact:
PMS only occurs before actual flow. That's why it's called PRE-menstral syndrome. If you're bitchy afterwards, you have no excuse: you're just bitchy and looking for an excuse.

It's called "science."

Flame away if you want to; thread is flame bait anyway.

12. Oh, we do have an excuse
While most of the emotional issues happen in the days before the period starts, myself and a lot of other girls I know get cramps the whole week. x(

13. This thread is not flame bait.
It was just a funny question about the mood I was feeling. Everything can be turned into flame bait around here.

please, let there be a cure... :scared:

18. Theory I've heard is that PMS is due to...
a crash in progesterone levels just before your period. I had PPD and PMS (I'd get severely depressed for 1-2 days) and this helped a lot. https://www.emerita.com/pages/menopause/faq-progesterone-cream.asp?find%5Fcategory=&find%5Fdescription=&find%5Fpart%5Fdesc= (also supposed to be good for menopause and peri-menopause, but I'm not there for awhile.

In the past couple of years, I've been on assorted forms of hormonal contraceptives which tend to keep me more balanced too.

20. IBTL.
I have the same problem, only I have the PMDD version. It's a good thing there are no guns around this place, or I'd be standing around with an UZI once a month.

Only cure I know of is either a total hysterectomy or menopause, but then the menopause has its drawbacks too. The hot flashes are only the tip of the iceberg.

Edited on Tue Aug-01-06 05:52 PM by hatredisnotavalue
I had two, but I wish I had had a dozen. Both kids turned out perfect. I wish I had more. I would give an arm right now to be able to have PMS. Memopause is so over-rated.
