Texas law "eager beavers"
...sorry, I just had to post that...I've actually heard about these parties, and one such thing they sell is called an...you guessed it. anyway, I'm so glad that Ashcroft and the rest of the repukes in this country are spending our tax dollars making sure this country is safe from Tommy Chong's bongs and some former schoolteacher's dildo sales.

Texas housewife busted for hawking erotic toys
Sales rep for Brisbane firm sold vibrator to undercover agents

Steve Rubenstein, Chronicle Staff Writer Tuesday, December 16, 2003

A Texas housewife is in big trouble with the law for selling a vibrator to a pair of undercover cops, and the Brisbane vibrator company she works for says Texas is an "antiquated place'' with more than its share of "prudes.''

Joanne Webb, a former fifth-grade teacher and mother of three, was in a county court in Cleburne, Texas, on Monday to answer obscenity charges for selling the vibrator to undercover narcotics officers posing as a dysfunctional married couple in search of a sex aid.

Webb, a saleswoman for Passion Parties of Brisbane, faces a year in jail and a $4,000 fine if convicted.

"What I did was not obscene,'' Webb said. ""What's obscene is that the government is taking action about what we do in our bedrooms.''

2. Wait a minute! Vibrators are illegal (here) in Texas?
I'm going to report my ex-GF to the cops right now! Ha! I'll teach her not to call me petty, opportunistic, and vindictive!

3. Beats me...

"Webb suspects she got in trouble because she ruffled feathers in town by daring to join the Chamber of Commerce with her sex toy business. She said her arrest had caused her husband of 20 years to suffer a nervous breakdown."

I guess it's okay as long as you don't act like it's okay?

Funny thing is, the company has 3000 women doing these sex toy "tupperware" parties...in all these middle-class good Christian women's homes...

I hope the woman's lawyers call every client they can to testify that they are not deviants or smut purchasers. LOL

4. I feel so much safer now
Among the company's top items are a $12 jar of passion pudding in chocolate and strawberry flavors ("apply head to toe, wherever you want your lover to linger"), a $9 jar of nipple cream in strawberry, raspberry and watermelon flavors, and battery-powered vibrators that sell for $17 to $140. The company also offers such lubricants as Slippery Stuff ($13), Lickety Lube ($12) and Lucky Stiff ($11.50), and a $22 battery-powered item for men known as Jelly Julie ("with soft jelly silicone lips").

Yes, I feel a lot safer now that we have a few vibrators, some passion pudding, nipple cream, lube and jelly off the streets. God knows we wouldn't want that stuff to get into the wrong hands. :eyes:

6. A suicide bomber could do a lot of damage with 2000 lb of nipple cream ...
... in the back of a Hummer.

Shouldn't nipple cream buyers get the same tax breaks as Hummer buyers?

8. hummer buyers are just lucky stiffs, I guess
and once again, just goes to show, if men were women, no doubt nipple cream would be covered by insurance and would be covered by medicare.

10. And once again it is directed at controlling WOMEN'S sexuality
"Passion Parties, Inc. offers women the opportunity to own and manage their own business, while promoting sexual awareness and offering passion products to enhance the lives of their clients.

Hundreds of thousands of women have enjoyed our fun and confidential parties for women. We are proud of the many testimonies from satisfied clients. They excitably report that they have enjoyed enhanced relationships through the knowledge and products provided by Passion Parties trained consultants and leaders."

Although men enjoy toys as well, this business is clearly targets women who are comfortable with the Tupperware-style concept. Heaven forbid women enjoy sex! Why is it that picture of white men signing the late-term abortion ban keeps flashing through my head? If they get their way, we will we not have a say at all over our own bodies.

BTW, just in case anyone out there wants to strike a blow for freedom and democracy, here's the info on how to become a Passion Party consultant. I bet this is the kind of home party the women's significant others wouldn't mind them bring home plenty of merchandise from.
