You make the call, baseball fans
Washington 6, Giants 1, fifth inning. Runner on first for Washington, two out. Fick, the batter, tries to bunt the first pitch. The next pitch by Noah Lowry hits him.

Intentional or not? If yes, was it called for?

2. When Cedeno got hit by a pitch trying to bunt, they called it a strike...

3. I dunno where he got hit
It's radio.

I'd have to know more about any history between Fick and Lowry before I could decide on intention, but it's not like Fick can't hit him. In the fourth he lined a single to left. Walked in the second.

4. Doesn't have to Be any history these days, it seems...
Managers aren't supposed to officially condone it but....unofficially, of course. Piniero actually said it last year, said that if they hit one of his, he was damn sure gonna hit one of theirs...look at Baker and LaRussa, each of 'em screaming that the other's a head-hunter. And there's more.

Fick being able to hit him might've been enough. Seems like, the more hits a batter gets off a pitcher, the more likely that pitcher is to pitch AT him, not TO him.

But...I could be wrong.

5. And that's the way it should be
One of mine goes down, one of yours goes down.

MAD — Mutually Assured Dusters.

After all, going down is part of baseball.
