I miss Lucy Ling on "The View" (BEAUTIFUL PHOTO)
Edited on Mon Jul-31-06 11:12 PM by Radio_Lady
She went over to National Geographic and I've missed just about everything she's done over there.

Without her and Star Jones, "The View" will be just a bunch of young and old white chicks -- with TWO comediennes (Rosie O'Donnell starts in September)!

11. Lucy Liu is an actress and probably not vying for that job!

10. They do look somewhat alike -- both beautiful, young Asian women.

12. Thanks for (quickly) straightening this out!

I'm sure a lot of people make this mistake. The "properties" of the first photo list LING and that's what threw me off.

2. I think they will add another person
Rosie was hired to take Meredith's place. Star left after that, opening up another slot. I would be very surprised if they hire another "young or old white chick".

6. Agree with you. They will need a racially balanced group.
Look for a black or Asian woman. Hope they make a good choice!

3. I used to like watching The View ...
now I forget that its even on. When I came back to the States and Lisa Ling was'nt on there but Hasselbeck was, I lost the point of enjoying The View. And deep down inside Barbara WaWa wants to fire everyone and make the show all about her if she could ;)

8. Sorry you feel that way. She's already done many things by herself.

I used to work around the corner from Barbara Walters in the early 1960s. She was part of the "Today" show unit; I worked with director Dick Carson on the "Tonight" show.

I don't recall much of our interaction but I think she gets a bad rap from a lot of people. She broke the mold for women at NBC and was one of the people responsible for our progress. I admire her for that. Along the way, she sacrificed a lot -- marriage, possibly more children, and grandchildren. Her adopted daughter Jacqueline never had children.

I believe she lives alone in Manhattan with a dog. Oh, and a big bank account, I'm sure.

At 73, she might have more.

Here is Barbara's bio -- to me, it's pretty darned impressive.
