I'm hungry...what's for dinner?
I've got a tee vee dinner. And it's nasty.

I want chocolate and fried chicken and smashed taters (not necessarily in that order).

What're you having???

7. Actually, that sounds good...
Way back, when I was...well...when I got the munchies more than I do now...my favorites were lemon meringue pie, lorna doone cookies, or celery and peanut butter.

I'm having trouble keeping things down lately, so am careful about it, and have been generally avoiding dinner.

I want chocolate and fried chicken and smashed taters too, though!

Sounds damn good.

Edited on Mon Jul-31-06 08:37 PM by haruka3_2000
He spent the weekend up in CT. Got a big striper while snorkeling this morning. During the summer, we rarely buy fish. We eat what we catch when we go up to our cabin in CT. During the colder months though, it's not only too cold to fish much, but too cold to stay in an uninsulated cabin.

21. Well, we still have another big filet from the striper.
That's going to be on the menu for tommorow. We do a lot of our own fishing during the summer (although the spearguns were a random weekend purchase) and fresh caught fish is so much better than anything you buy. I seriously wouldn't want to live too far inland ever.

72. It's like the cold noodles you get in Chinese restaurants, but the
tahini sauce is replaced with peanut butter. Other ingredients in the sauce are molasses, brown sugar and soy sauce.

The noodles are rice noodles.

I used to make it with Tahini, but my wife started making it with peanut butter. My oldest son simply loves this recipe and my wife makes it for him every few weeks.

It's rather good. Whenever my wife makes it, people ask her for the recipe.

77. i had chocolate martini and oven fried chicken
cold asparagus salad with asiago cheese and balsamic vinegar for the salad

no bread or rice though, hubby is low carb, he didn't get a chocolate martini either, that's for me when my poor face is getting too thin from all this healthy eating, he had to have a questionable low carb beer ha ha

83. well i just learned how to make these
got sick of spending $10 at the foofy martini place when i wanted one

you need a chocolate flavored vodka, a vanilla flavored vodka, and a clear creme de cacoa

the proportions are 3 of the chocolate flavored vodka, 2 of the vanilla, 1 of the creme de cacoa -- you can shake with ice and strain into a chilled glass or if you don't mind it getting a little dilute, stir it over crushed ice

there is another kind of chocolate martini, which is actually brown rather than clear, made from godiva liqueur or a similar chocolate liqueur with vanilla flavored vodka -- it's sweeter though, pretty close to a chocolate milk taste

next month's project maybe!

I am, too.

My two youngest boys are 9 and 12.

Two oldest are 17 and 22.

I still do cupcakes for all of 'em. Sometimes it doesn't seem like I'll ever get out of the kitchen.

Kinda sad though...only one left in elementary school so only one who takes them for his class.

I am a firm believer in cooking homemade soup or homemade chili on rainy days, especially if it's cold outside. It just takes the blahs away and makes you feel better.

106. I made a tuna/cannellini bean salad with diced celery, cuke, green onions,
sliced radishes, capers with an olive oil/lemon juice dressing. It's keeping cool in the refridge. Too hot for anything warmer than 40F. Some mint iced tea and a melon slice to accompany.

in the dressing? I love olive oil and lemon. Is it just a simple blend? I would love to know. Sounds good for lunch. I have pineapple mint and chocolate mint in the herb garden. I can make some wonderful ice tea to go along with it. I love mint ice tea. DU recipe swap. :)

113. Nope
Just throw a couple of tablespoons into the mix. This time I also diced up a green pepper from my garden (have to start using them up)

The oil/juice blend - half cup juice, quarter cup oil, but then I love lots of lemon juice on everything, so YMMV.

Oooooo, chocolate and pineapple mint. Did the pineapple bloom? Beautiful flowers.

Edited on Tue Aug-01-06 03:30 PM by AutumnMist
but I have been dead heading them so I can dry more for winter. I usually let them bloom around late August. By that time I have enough dried. I bought some new sage thats truly spicy. I haven't dried it yet because its still a young plant. But I cant wait. The smell of the pineapple mint is wonderful and Its wonderful in layered desserts. Thank you for sharing. I love lemon as well so I am going to go off of your measurements.
