i had two cups of coffee today for the first time in ages...
not because i've only had one cup per day for a long time but i haven't had coffee at all for a really long time i mean.

anyway i've been hyper all afternoon and just thought i'd share that with you. it's amazing. i can't believe how hyper i am. been like this all afternoon. sumatran is reeeeeally good coffee you know. kenyan is also good but i didn't buy any of that. i wouldn't even have had any coffee if i hadn't switched to a coffee service that rents out these machines that make one cup at a time. now i can buy all different kinds of coffees and the kinds i like are sumatran and kenyan (oh wait i like mochas too but that's not really coffee is it? it's more like a coffee type beverage, but anyway) so because i have this kind of brewer now i can order the kind i like so today i have had two cups since 1:00 and i finished them by 2:00 actually but i'm still feeling pretty hyper.

i need one of these for at home!

what kind of coffee do you like? how much do you drink every day? i think tomorrow i'll drink one in the morning and one in the afternoon instead of drinking them really fast because i can't concentrate now. but they're so delicious... i couldn't resist. i really didn't buy them for me i thought i could resist because caffeine isn't good for you. but i decided to try one and well there i went. we have tea, too.

I try to buy fair trade.

7. holy cow!
two 20 oz? i only had two 10 oz cups and daaaaaaaamn... which makes me think, again, that i wonder how many servings they really meant when (if?) they said two cups were healthy... do they mean two 8 oz cups? cause who drinks that much? servings should only reflect reality-based serving sizes, dammit.

4. wow! geez i would be up all night... probably moving furniture!
my brain is BUZZIN! thank goodness this gets less effective over time because this stuff is so tasty and i don't think i'm going to be able to resist it. i shouldn't have ordered my favorite kind. i'm so gonna wanna drink more and more of it. i just thought someone else might like it because to me it's the best. that and kenyan. and mochas.

i really did (stupidly) think i wasn't gonna drink any. i haven't had coffee in yeeaaars... only a mocha like 2x per year, when shopping (cause i tend to wanna leave before the shopping is done, during school clothes buying time and christmas shopping)...

besides, where's the fun in that? ;)

i wonder ... does it taste as good? cause like you said it's reeeeeally good!

13. i used to drink LOTS of espresso...
my sister and i went to this all night coffee house in deep ellum and they had a bottomless cup (not the espresso but regular coffee) anyway we'd sit there and talk all night and had so much fun. i really miss that place. can't remember the name though which bugs me no end as it reminds me of my age... i used to get espressos now and then even though they cost more cause they're so strong and delicious.

i don't want one for at home though notnow... i'd never sleep again.

did anyone else see the machinist? that was pretty good... that reminded me of it... the not sleeping thing.

cleaning out the garage, dusting the leaves of all the trees in the neighborhood, balancing my checkbook, adjusting the GNP for the rising inflation rate, solving Fermat's Theorem and doing your Perry Como imitation. And have another cup of coffee; you're fun to watch. :headbang:

23. I developed a serious coffee habit after I quit smoking
Edited on Mon Jul-31-06 05:03 PM by Skittles
I'd always had my coffee but I started drinking it all the time, and since I work 12 hour shifts at night - well...:o

Anyways, it was when I started failing the iron test when I donated platelets (blood product) that I realized it was probably the caffiene inhibiting my iron intake - I'm down to one quite large cup a day.....my favorite is Harry & David's Moose Munch.

26. oh no!
i've always been anemic... i guess i should get my iron levels checked... i wonder if 2 cups a day is all that bad... it's so tasty i don't wanna stop drinking it... i could always go to decaf...

i'm glad you mentioned that!

and i've always wanted to try that harry and david coffee... i might order some as my free gift when i do our corporate order this year... if they let me do it i mean... last year they did the order at the corporate office for all the locations, so i missed out on the bonus gift... waah.

i say "i mean" a lot when i'm hyper, i've noticed.

decaf tastes different, doesn't it? i don't know, i've never tried it... well if i did it was only once and a long time ago when i would still drink cheap nasty coffees :P

yeah i admit it, i'm a coffee snob

28. I never drink coffee.
Probably 10 cups in my entire life. Blechhy!

Coffee screws with your natural waking rhythms and makes you dependent. Your brain has "plugs" (neural receptors) where "control chemicals" (adenosine) are supposed to connect. These chemicals control neural activity and make you tired. By blocking the "plugs", the adenosine can't make you tired and your wakefulness in increased. Sounds good right? There's a downside.

Your body compensates by increasing the amount of adenosine pumped into the system in order to overcome the caffeine. When the caffeine is removed, this results in body wide fatigue as the oversupply of adenosine is absorbed. The only way to fix the problem is to wait days for the body to normalize its adenosine production, or to consume more caffeine.

Eventually your body becomes addicted, and you can't function without the stuff. My recommendation? Quit while you still can.

Chiapas coffee from a free trade co. and boy was it good. I ground half of it for my drip machine and the other half I ground for my espresso machine. I had a big cup of it this morning and it was just wunnerful. Very smooth
