These guys are so tame, they'd probably wear sunglasses though. I was really disappointed because the incubator died and ruined all their eggs. It would have been a decent bit of cash and I really wanted to keep one of the babies from the albino female and pick up a lavender to breed that baby with.

17. Pretty much just enough to pay for their keep.

But the few hundred from the breeding season seems like it's actual profit. It's really not though. Rare strains fetch a few hundred. Wild coloration (which one of the females is) sells for about $20-30 as a baby. My male is a high-yellow (worth a bit more), but heterozygous for lavender. The other female is an albino (also worth a bit more), but also het for lavender. So if I bred their offspring with another lavender, I'd probably get some lavenders, which are worth more.

I have them because I like them. I originally never intended to breed them at all. I just had the two females, but I'm friends with a reptile breeder, who had an extra male (and no extra suitable caging...you can have multiple females, but only one male to a cage) so she just gave me her extra breeder male. Eventually, I may buy some more females since they're in a 33gallon long, so I can really fit 5-6 into that tank.

Feeding my five lizards (these guys plus the two bearded dragons) probably costs about $15-20/week.
