Just got back from Miami Vice: Call me crazy, I liked it.
But if you're wanting to go see it out of a sense of nostalgia for the TV show, don't. It's not an homage by any means.

Anyone else seen it?

1. Saw it today too!
Movie had a gritty look too it. Personally, I thought that Colin Farrell, an actor I really don't think too much off, was in a role perfect for him as Sonny Crockett. I actually thought he did well as the sleazy good guy.

I thought the movie was good.

3. Choosing the gritty look was a great choice
Michael Mann shot this in hi-def, as he did Collateral. It makes for some amazing night shots, I think. But it's exactly the dark, gritty, hi-def feel that might really turn off some original MV fans. Nothing bright and pretty about this movie at all! Much closer to Collateral and Heat.

2. I'm looking forward to it.
Looks good to me.

Btw, is anybody else having a problem with rottentomatoes?

4. Not my cup of tea
I don't think I ever saw a complete episode of the TV series, and I tend to avoid movies made out of old, bad TV series. But hey, your mileage may vary:shrug:

People were just too damn wasted back in the day to realize it. Besides, for some folks I heard it make a great coke snorting game:rofl: Now they look at the reruns they wonder :wtf: were we watching that shit for, wait a minute, oh, yeah:evilgrin:
