Any of you folks buy prescriptions in Canada?
Do you have websites you can do this at or do you actually have to go there?

The vet gave me some scripts for my cat's asthma, and suggested I get them filled in Canada.

I'm only about a 5 hour drive from the border, so a drive isn't out of the question (besides I do have family up there, so a visit isn't out of the question either...)

But I thought I'd check to see if this were do-able by mail, or online.

1. Glad to hear Millie is doing better.....
I saw on the news that customs is intercepting prescriptions from Canada going to U.S. citizens. They claim they aren't as "safe" (read expensive) as U.S. drugs.
I just love it when the government goes out of its way to screw over the people they are supposed to work for! I guess the big drug companies put some pressure on them.
That being said you can ask the Canadian company you are ordering from if they have had any problems. If I were you I would go for a visit.

6. I asked the vet about driving up myself and bringing them in
and she said there shouldn't be any trouble, especially since it's a prescription written for a cat.

Millie will have to take accolate for the rest of her life, and should there be another attack she'll get albuteral in a nebulizer.

She hasn't had another episode since leaving the hospital last Monday.

8. You shouldn't have any problems if you drive up.
I would be cautious about mail-order because of the recent crack-down by customs. My mom has serious allergy problems and gets her meds in Canada. She lives in Rochester, N.Y. so its an easy 70 mile drive to Niagra falls.
I was wondering how your cat was doing, I am glad to hear she is going to be fine.

3. Can you still buy seeds at retail outlets up there?
I heard that the RCMP was cracking down on seed sales after the Marc Emery deal. Do you know if they are still selling them in Ontario? Just curious.

4. You know, I'm not sure. Though I am heading to Vancouver in a week.
I'll make myself a note to check and get back to you. I would assume so, as I have been hearing the finished product is just as easy to get as it has ever been.

5. I am just curious if the Emery situation.......
...has caused a panic among seed retailers. I really think it is a shame that the U.S. can impose its laws against a Canadian citizen doing business in Canada. It just doesn't seem right.
