Another question for people with taste- home decor this time.
My kid sister and I both want to repaint our rooms in a week or so. She has a pretty good idea of what she wants (really really pink) and we'll have to primer her walls first as the current color is a really nasty mint green that looks like something you'd in a non-public area of a hospital.

Mine is currently white and will likely not need primer. I'd like to do some combination of a dark blue and white, possibly with a light grey as well. Which combination would look better with a wooden border halfway up the wall? Lower wall: dark blue Border: white Upper Wall: grey or Lower Wall: dark blue Border: Dark Grey Upper Wall: White.

1. I vote second choice
But you can always use an online tool to help you choose. I've used this one.

2. It depends on the grey, but

... white on the upper walls will make the room look bigger and brighter (reflect more light). Grey will close it in a little more. Depends on which effect you want, I guess.

3. I like the combination of the dark blue, white, and light grey.
I would paint the lower wall the dark blue, the upper wall grey, and the ceiling and trim white. You could use the light grey on the ceiling too, if you want, but depending on how the light is in the room, you might want to stick with the white. The white trim will lighten up the rest of the color scheme.

Hey, once you get it done, can we see pictures?

7. If you paint the dark colors near the floor, the room may appear
to carry the floor color up the wall, blending them together. Not a bad thing if that is what you want, or if you want to deemphsize the floor color. A lighter color near the floor will usually highlight a darker floor. A dark color on top or near the ceiling will usually make the room's ceiling appear lower. Also, darker colors on the bottom half of a wall disguise dirt and dust better. If the paint chips, however, the white color behind will show.
