10. Yeah, when i first heard her music way back in 1995
she became my favorite...Stevie Nicks gives her a run for her money at times, when i'm in the Stevie mood, but more often than not, anytime i hear sarah's voice, it soothes, me, and i get on a sarah kick....:)

Any primate1 answer to a thread like this will lead me to ask, at least in part, "who the fuck are these people?" which then causes me to look them up. Usually good stuff, though. Gotta give credit.

But yeah, you're right, most of it isn't. I hear the next album is gonna have WAY more guitar and Mills backing vocals (THANK GOD) than the last few albums have had. New Adventures in Hi Fi has to be my favorite 90's R.E.M. album (the last Bill album)...

I guess that means they're gonna START on the new album in the autumn, which means it might be done by next spring or summer? But I don't know.

I'm the biggest R.E.M. fan 'round these parts. I'm actually quite famous for it...:)

She has one of the prettiest songs on her Hotel Paper album, "It's You". It has this sorta spare, simple, melody that couples perfectly with the sweetness of the lyrics. What's your favorite song of hers?

42. Here are mine
Favorite artist: The Beatles

Favorite band: The Beatles (I'm tempted to say someone different for one of the two, just because, having listened to the Beatles to death for most of my life so far I don't listen to them as much as I used to. However, I really can't say there's any other band that beats them for my all-time favorite, even if I don't listen to them as much as I used to.)

Favorite male solo artist: I'm gonna go with Neil Young, even though I haven't heard a number of his albums. I almost put Paul McCartney, but decided not to because a good chunk of my favorites are actually Wings songs, so they're, at least technically, group songs.

Favorite female solo artist: Bobbie Gentry is prolly my favorite all-time, although I'm a big Michelle fan, too. From what I've heard of it, I like her new Wreckers stuff, too, but I haven't heard the album.

Favorite duo: Simon and Garfunkel or Hall and Oates; I can't really choose because I like different things about the two. Simon and Garfunkel did five near-perfect albums together that I've played to death and still love. Hall and Oates have a more inconsistent career but some of their albums, like Abandoned Luncheonette, Along the Red Ledge, Whole Oats and their self-titled album from '75, are some of my all-time favorites.

51. I highly recommend The Wreckers' Stand Still, Look Pretty
It's very close in quality to Michelle's solo albums. If you like "Leave The Pieces," co-written by another good artist (Jennifer Hanson - she can get quite rocky,) you should enjoy the whole thing. The CD has a nice mix of Michelle's pop and folk roots with country influences. That said, I'd love to see another Michelle solo CD.
