I do not expect bad news.

I expect to come home in an ice-bra, jumping and shouting (well, maybe not jumping) for joy, and asking my woman to get me a beer. Actually we'll have to go to the drive-through liquor* store to get me some, but I bet she'll do it.

I had to have a biopsy when my baseline mammogram showed an "irregular mass" in my left breast in 2003. Everything turned out well (totally benign), but the biopsy was not fun. It hurt like hell even with the anesthetic (local), and I ached for days afterward. Fortunately, the biopsy removed half the tumor, and it hasn't grown since. The doctor says I'll probably never have any issues with it...but I am not dismissing it completely.

I've had a few removed. Didn't think it was too bad - just keep things well-corralled afterward. The pain pills prescribed made me sick - other than that, merely expect some discomfort.

Its probably more high tech now. I remember the ice bra. And also my whole boob was black and blue for almost a month. Didn't hurt...just looked bad.

It will be over quick too. My wife had one done. We got to the hospital extremely early, the surgery was at 6:00am, I went downstairs to get coffee, fifteen minutes later when I got back upstairs she was already in a recovery room.
