Have you seen the commercial for the Reagan dime?

I usually pay no attention to this type of ad, but the Reagan dime caught my eye. For the low, low price of $10, you can get a limited edition Reagan dime, made of "pure .999 fine silver."

Only available for a limited time, then the molds are (I'm guessing) smashed to the floor. Well, that's not really what they say, but they will be destroyed.

My question is, what are these things worth? Do the appreciate in value? Can you use them as currency? I had no idea anyone would be remotely interested in a Reagan dime.

When my now-husband and I first stated dating, his mother was collecting the state quarters for him. I wonder if she will present us some lovely Reagan dimes as a gift? :puke:
