20. Ding-ding-ding-ding-ding!
It started out that way. Actually, my sinusitis has travelled to my chest and lungs, so I'm trying to force it out with cherry mentholatum and a microwaved cornbag.

I must say, the aroma is rather... interesting.

26. It was when you mentioned the aroma that I thought of that...
I'm so sorry that you're sick. I had the flu back in February and it seemed like it would never go away. But shouldn't you see a doctor if your lungs are involved? It took me three trips to the doctor, and some serious antibiotics, before I finally got well. And I had to have a chest X-Ray, in case it had turned to pneumonia...:-(

It does sound interesting, LOL! Where on earth did you hear of this? It sounds like a real old-fashioned remedy, even older than any my grandmother ever mentioned...

I really hope that this helps... And that you're feeling better soon...:-)

Rhiannon:hug:

29. One of the church ladies made them for our bazaar last year.
She gave me one of them (people didn't know what they were, I guess).

Nah, this is the same ol' sinus infection that starts out as a tickle in the nose, then a day or two with a roll of paper towels (forget Kleenex - it's too damned flimsy, & the fibers irritate my allergies). Then it travels to my chest (bronchitis), and in a few more days, it'll come back up and out.

Doctors might give an antibiotic, but only if I've got a raging infection, or am at risk of developing pneumonia. I'm trying to nip it in the bud.

34. Well, just be careful with this...
This used to happen to me, a cold that turned into a sinus infection that spread to my lungs, and I always ended up having to go to the doctor about it, since it never went away on its own, just got worse. And I haven't ben sick in years, but have had flu twice, recently, and it got pretty bad. I went to the doctor, but whatever he gave me didn't help, so finally was browbeaten into going back and they said that it was lucky that I did. I ended up having a chest X-Ray...:-(

And I can't imagine that these would be best-sellers at your church bazaar, LOL! People probably had no idea what they were, unless they are decorative!:D

Take care of yourself, my friend, and please get well soon.

I read that a Methodist church's women's group made a bunch of these to send to the troops in Iraq. Pretty neat idea, eh?

You made an educated guess, thinking it was the heat.
Alas, for me, it's the air conditioning in cars that makes me sick.

And I must say, sitting in the a/c at home with a warmed-over bag o'corn is rather comfy. If I could, I'd purr right now.

JW was into the "technology" of his day, and had an innate curiosity about things in general. But it wouldn't surprise me to learn that people have been doing this sort of thing for generations.
