Poll question: What is your favorite brand of root beer?
I'm guzzling an A&W right now, but I would have to say I like Hires better ( and I think that Barqs stuff is crap ) This is the first time I posted a poll, so pardon me if I screwed it up somehow

Your thoughts?

2. I love a brand called Dads rootbeer...
It's sold in a blue can and I can never find it... but it's really tasty.

There's also another kind I like. It's sold in a bottle and it's made like the original rootbeer...

4. Virgil's.
It is soooooooooo good. No fake crap in it, either. It's real sugar and natural flavorings from plants.

12. Virgil's is a really good natural root beer
Edited on Sat Jul-15-06 08:01 PM by fishwax
I used to get that fairly regularly. Good stuff, but I haven't had it in a long time. I think the same people make Reed's Ginger Beer, which is also really good--not the spiciest ginger beer around, but a good enough bite.

24. A lot of health-food oriented stores have it, plus foodie places
Trader Joes and whole foods have it. If you have Cost Plus World Market, they carry it in bottles and mini-kegs.

Point is the best.

Sprecher, on the other hand, makes the best ginger ale.

11. the best is Henry Weinhard's, but, alas, it isn't available where I live
It's made in the Pacific Northwest, and you can get it as far west as Colorado and Wyoming, but no luck in Illinois or Oklahoma, where I used to live. When I was still in OK, I would buy a case or two every time I visited relatives in those states, and savor it over the course of months. I even got several of my co-workers hooked on it, and use to give out bottles of it as Christmas gifts. (On more than one occasion I received a case of it as a Christmas gift myself.)

Oh, it's good stuff. :)

Everywhere I go, I like to try the local/regional microbrew root beers. That's the best one I've ever had.

20. I voted A&W mostly for the nostalgia value...in the summer when I was
a kid, and Mom would start washing out the gallon glass jugs, I knew we were going to A&W for supper and would bring home root beer for floats for the next few days.

It's one of my favorite summer memories.

there are these days, but by god their root beer is fit for Olympus.
