Happy Birthday to my English penpal Angela Spears (1969-1972)

She was from Cumberland, redheaded, daughter of a miner and a opera singer. She had an excellent education (spoke 4 languages at 16), wrote beautiful, descriptive letters, had long red hair. Naturally, I fell in love with her (I never let her know and she gave no indication of sny interest beyond being friends). Sadly, my freshman year of college left me little time for things like penpals and we lost touch. I mailed a letter to her grandparents address (I still know it by heart!) in the 1990's but, sadly, it was returned as undeliverable.

Happy 52nd my old friend. Wish we could talk once again, now that now that we know ourselves a bit better!
