What is that music I keep hearing during World Cup coverage?!?

I keep hearing the same piece throughout the coverage. I just now realized that it's VERY similar to "Go West." Anybody else know what I'm talking about?

1. The tune is indeed 'Go West'

Why it is played is a matter of some debate. The fans of various teams sing it, with different words.

Apparently the words 'meant' to be used this time are "stand up for the champions" (just repeat that time after time). It presumably fits in German too. Other variations have included "Allez, Paris St. Germain", "one-nil to the Arsenal" (after that side has scored its first goal), "you're shit, and you know you are" and many more. The "Go West Bromwich Albion" lyric makes most sense as the orginal chant (WBA are an English team), but if so it's surprising it spread so far - they're a relatively small team who haven't played in European competitions for ages.
