5. I know
because I just finished donating to the candidate of my choice. One of the things I had to attest to was that I was 18 years old or older. If you're younger than that, find an older Dem who can donate for you.

7. smart question
a dumb question would be, "How old do I need to be in order to donate to the Bush campaign?"
:dem:
You need to be 18. Your time is best spent getting out the vote. Feel like sending Dennis some Ducets?

9. Here's a link to the FEC citizen guide. See page 6 re: minors.
Can't cut/paste here because it's pdf version, but states that "Individuals under the age of 18 are prohibited from making contributions to federal candidates and contributions or donations to committees of political parties, but they may contribute to PACs under certain conditions"

21. Bottom of page 5.
Contributions from Family Members
A husband and wife each have separate
contribution limits, even if only one
spouse has an income. For example, a couple
may contribute a $4,000 check to a
candidate’s primary campaign as long as both
sign the check (or an attached statement), as
explained above.
Children under 18 may not make contributions
to Federal candidates or to party
committees, but they may contribute to PACs
if certain conditions are met.

11. Beats me
If you're under age (which I don't know if you would be), just get a parent to donate.
I intend to donate 20 bucks (which is a SHIT LOAD for a poor ass college student like myself) to Kerry's campaign in the upcomming weeks...

14. I mean, give THEM the money
You still have your job, right?
So give 'em whatever you want to donate, and then they'll give it to DK's campaign.
That way, it's like YOU'RE giving the money! :D

16. One of the best things you can do
is to find information about your candidate, print it out, and distribute it to people who are willing to listen. When I was your age, I talked politics all the time, and tried my best to convince people of the soundness of my political opinions. People were impressed that someone underage was even interested in politics and were willing to listen.

Good luck!

20. I did a quick search and found this on McCain-Feingold
In a 286-page decision that reflected the law's complexity, the court invalidated just two minor provisions. One blocked donations by minors; another limited some party spending not related to a particular candidate.

Not a dumb question. You are guilty of posting a deceptive subject line. ;-)
