Cat people. Help!
I just came in from running a couple of errands. It's was storming like crazy when I opened the garage door and a kitten ran in to the garage and is back behind a very large pile of my husband stuff that he treasures. How can I get this kitten out of the garage without feeding him? I don't want any siblings joining him there either. We cannot adopt a cat at this house because we have cat allergies in the home.

1. Without feeding him?
Why don't you want to feed him?

Honestly, the easiest and fastest way to get a cat out of hiding is to lure them with food.

2. I don't want it to think that it can come back or can stay.
Our neighbor has a ton of barn cats, and I'm sure that this is one of the kittens of one cat I saw a week ago with her belly dragging the ground.

3. One-week old kittens
don't go running into garages. Their eyes are still shut. Lure it out with some tuna & either return it to your neighbor or take it to the shelter where it can be adopted.

4. So don't let the kitten eat it
Use food as a lure and then gently grab it before it eats anything...then take it to a no-kill shelter.

Also, it couldn't be a one-week old kitten. They can't run and their eyes aren't open yet.

5. I was going to write something helpful but from the tone of your posts
I don't like you with your "belly dragging" comments, etc. I can tell you hate animals. In fact, I feel sorry as hell for that kitten in your old garage behind your husband's "valuables".

Run, kitty, run - this one's a meanie!

Outside cats have pretty horrible, short miserable lives and your neighbor who doesn't have the sense to even get a low cost neutering for the poor things, should be ashamed of himself. Ugh!

6. That's unfair. I don't hate animals, we just can't have cats
because of health problems. Secondly, I tease my husband all the time about his "valuables," but you wouldn't know that. As for our neighbor, we've talked to him and he recognized the problems with these cats but continues to do nothing. He does feed them and put water out for them so he doesn't totally ignore them. Third, the cat's belly was dragging the ground, it was so heavily pregnant. I haven't seen her around for the last few days, but I am fairly certain that she must have had her kittens by now. I'm also fairly certain that this kitten is from the neighbor's cats.

7. Poor kitten is terrified from the storm.

Just leave it alone until the storm passes. It will wander back out and toward food on its own.

8. They say you don't find a cat, they find you
I just feel sorry for the one that found you. That's all I have to say.

9. I thought you were under attack by cat people.
If so, I could have been of some assistance. As it is, I'm sorry I can't help you.
