Data Encryption Software Questions - Am I Crazy?
I received an offer for computer data encryption software that states, "Protect your privacy with the strongest encryption available."

FYI,

Computer OS = Windows XP
Firewall = Zone Alarm
Virus = Norman Program Manager

Given the rumors of back-doors and secret government access keys planted into all computers and software in USA, just how secure are encryption software programs?

How does one find out if encryption programs like 'PGP' and/or 'Steganos Safe 8' are really safe?

Is there an encryption software available that is safe?

Am I really being 'tin foil' about this?
