Poll question: Favorite song by EARTH, WIND & FIRE
I'd probably go with either Earth Wind & Fire or Biyo from Spirit, or the live version of either Devotion or Africano/Power from Gratitude. Of these, however, it's gotta be September.

PS Had to kill Can't Hide Love to have space for an Other vote; pisser.

1. Reasons. Can't Hide Love. Imagine My Heart with You.
The one about mysticism and world religion.

Hey, you left off the best ones!

4. That would be All About Love
Didja read the post? My favorites are ones nobody's heard of too, but what's the point of doing a poll with 10 choices nobody remembers? I love 'em all, chose the nine by looking up a greatest hits record on Amazon.

5. Two more great ones by EWF....

"Let's Groove" (1981) and "Fall In Love With Me" (1983).

And thanks for this poll! For my tastes, Earth, Wind & Fire was one of the musical highlights of the '70s.

6. Great group
Voted for "That's the Way Of the World" but it was a hard choice.

Here's a forgotten gem from EWF: "System Of Survival"

8. I love them all!
And there are much more great songs by them. Earth, Wind & Fire is one of the greatest bands of all times. Beautiful, danceable and innovative. They influenced much of today's underground house music.

9. Now see what you made me do!
Edited on Sat Dec-13-03 06:40 PM by Booberdawg
I went to Amazon to order this CD and ended up buying every old CD in sight!

I just ordered 2 Greatest Hits CDs for EW&F, Commodores, Hall & Oates, KC & The Sunshine Band, Doobie Brothers, Kool & The Gang, Fleetwood Mac, and The Guess Who.

I guess I just treated myself to Christmas presents for myself. :D

19. Never seen them live
but I've heard of it being a feast...
They were in Austria this summer, but I missed it:-(
I didn't even believe they were the real Earth, Wind & Fire.

11. "Shining Star" all the way!
A groundbreaking single. Sleek, stylish funk with that irresistible guitar intro, uptown horns and the essence of Black harmony singing at the outro.

EWF got in, got it said and got out in three minutes. If they ever did a substandard tune, I must've missed it, but "Star" was the one that brung 'em. It was a rare joy to "have" to play that song on the radio!!!

20. I saw a movie not long ago (on cable) , I think it was called "September".
The whole soundtrack was EWF. Story of black female screenwriter in LA and black studio exec. It was pretty good. And the music was fantastic.
