You asked for it you got it: Pictures of the Cat
Mind you, I don't own a digital camera but I did get this cheapass webcam with something I bought. So these aren't photos of the year.

He's definately not a lap cat. But he has to be in the room that I am in and he'll always be right next to me, even if it's on the floor. He hates any kind of cat toys but loves that damn brush. If he were human, he'd be a metrosexual because he's so into grooming.

I've must have left notifications all over the place and no one has answered yet. My place has been scented to death ( YUCK! ), but I'm trying to get that taken care of. And I no longer need an alarm clock. He woke me up at 8pm demanding food (I feed him before I left for work - I guess he has expectations now).

It's funny, the first night he was here all he did was stare at the front door wanting to go out. Now when I leave he hides because he doesn't want me to boot him out. I'm fearful someone just abandoned this pretty boy.

I think I'm doomed to own this guy - HELP!!!!

5. Several
I found him 2 days ago when I was coming home from work. It was cold, rainy and windy but he definately was not one of the feral cats you see running around the apartment (he had no problems aproaching me).

I first thought he was a girl until I was grooming him with his new brush and something popped out.

I am posting signs and calling the local pet places to let them know a lost cat was found, but I have decided that if no owner is found by Jan 1st then I'll keep him (even though I have a history of not being able to keep anything alive including house plants).

2. LynneSin, he's beautiful! And some notes....
If you don't want him waking you to be fed, feed him at night. Also, many cats do well with a steady supply of dry food. They're not like dogs; they eat a little and quit.

If you want him to play, get a feather toy or a cheap feather duster. I don't know a cat who can resist feathers. And try catnip. Some cats are immune, though.

I think you're a fine woman. Not everyone would take the boy in. I admire you.

7. Yep, you've been chosen!
He looks pretty healthy from the photo. Congratulations!

My cats have many toys, however, their favorite thing to play with is a shoestring. When I dangle it or wiggle it across the floor, they go nuts. The other thing that gets them moving is a laser pointer. Even Fat Sam goes for that.

Good luck! He's adorable and I'm sure you'll be best pals for a long time to come.

8. PS -- have you read "The Fur Person"?
It's a nice little book by May Sarton about a cat who adopts a family -- and it's told from the cat's point of view. It's very amusing.

9. He's beautiful
And I wouldn't call it "doomed" to own him; rather, you were "fated" to own him. Look forward to many happy years of love and affection from this beautiful creature!

I have a cat (Montana) who's not a lap sitter, either, but he insists on being in whatever room I'm in. While his brother (Simba) will sit on my lap and chest 23 hours out of the day, this guy chooses to just be somewhere in the room or perhaps lie on my feet. Since their buddy Ferg died in August, both cats have become even more attached, and Monty loves to lie on my feet and legs and will occasionally even tolerate sitting on my lap for a time.

As far as toys, I agree with others' suggestions about shoelaces and laser pointers (just be sure not to point it at his eyes). My cats also love corks. Simba has an old chewed-up one and will carry it around and talk to it and even brings it to me as a gift. I'll throw it and he'll fetch it and bring it back, just like a dog would. Monty will do the same with toy mice.

You can leave food out all day; just watch it if you think he's getting fat because you may need to cut back a bit or just give him food at certain times.

Give this beautiful kitty a name and prepare yourself for years of unconditional love!
