Whoa!!1 - BahBwah WahWah just smacked Star JONES out!!!1
With only BahBwah, Joy, and the wingnut twerp at the table, Joy said, "And then there were three."

Then Bahbwah said that they had hoped Star's departure would have gone smoothly, but that Star had told People Mag that ABC did not renew her contract (and she felt FIRED), that they had hoped to keep those details secret, but that Star had continued to make statements after her farewell yesterday, that they had given Star time to find another job and they had hoped she would have found one and announced it on The View, and that this would have allowed "Star to leave with dignity, but unfortunately Star made another choice." So, sez BahBwah, she will NOT EVER be on this deal again, except in some re-runs.

Whoa!!!1 So much for the touchy feely deal-ly. Actually, BawBwah has not performed well in the temporary lead chair, Rosie is WAY over the top and is a bad choice, Joy will probably leave, and the wingnut twerp is so brittle and immature she's not even ready for Faux. I think The View is ALL over. (Please, those who "wouldn't watch such crap", no wagering - or posting.)

1. Oooo, they're doing LIMBOsevic & Viagra!!1 Joy said, "His bark is bigger
than his bite!!1 He's got a big mouth... Security stopped him when he pole vaulted over the machine..."

BahBwah says, "Shouldn't somebody be able to keep Viagra PRIVATE? MANY celebrities DO it (pass drugs through checkpoints)---------*I've* done it!!"

4. It's not that I wouldn't watch it, but
What is the View, what is BahBwah, who is Joy? I'm thinking Rosie is Rosie O'Donnel, because I don't know any other Rosie. I kept seeing posts about the View and Star Jones, so I figured it was some crime drama I hadn't seen, and Star Jones was the latest TV crime scene babe. Now I'm guessing it's a talk show, unless I have the wrong Rosie.

God, the things I miss by not watching enough TV! I should stay up later, or get up earlier, or buy cable, whichever applies here!

7. Okay, BahBwah (however you spelled it) is Barbara Walters, isn't she?
See, I can figure it out over time!! I saw her doing a show one time with several women talking about stuff. Couldn't hear it, it was at a hotel breakfast buffet. That's IT, isn't it? I figured out the secret name code!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Yea, Me!

(That's another reason I hate all these fake names. I'm really slow at them! Anyway, what's wrong with Barbara Walters that she needs an insult name? I always liked her.)

I kind of remember that skit. Baba WaWa is how I remember it sounding. Like I said, sometimes I read these names, and don't really sound them out, so they don't make sense. I was trying for some play on the word "fatwah," thinking it was a religious thing when I first saw the name.

33. Maybe the best SNL comedian ever.
Taking into account creativity, timing, acting skill, sense of the absurd, and every other element of comedy, she was one-of-a-kind. The two greatest to come from SNL both died too young--Belushi and Radner. I'm not one of those "SNL has sucked since Eddie Murphy left" people--I think some brilliant comedians have come out since. But those two were unique, true talents.

BahBwah is Barbara Walters. Joy Beher (sp?) another person on the show.

It's on midmornings on ABC. It might be interesting the first week or so when Rosie gets there-they have a woman on there who is unabashedly RW and an idiot in interviewing and debating.

Rosie's gonna eat her alive.

12. The View is an all women early morning talk show. Star Jones was ONE
Edited on Wed Jun-28-06 11:23 AM by in_cog_ni_to
of 5 women hosting the show. Star Jones, Meredith Viera, Joy Behar, Barbara Walters (BahBwah) and a RW blond bimbo. Rosie was hired to replace Meredith Viera who is replacing Katie Couric (I think), Star Jones was pissed that Rosie was hired because Star was always talking about 'how to lose weight' on the show (she's lost 100 pounds) and neglected to tell her viewers she had a stomach bypass operation and Rosie blasted her for that on her own web site. Star was pissed at Rosie for Rosie telling the world she hahd had byass surgery. Cat fight at The View!:) Hope this helps.;)

I never watch the show. USE to watch, but then they hired the blond RW bimbo and I stopped. I may tune in for Rosie though!

24. Joy hates bush with a passion. Meredith was a good Liberal. Star
came around to a much more progressive viewpoint, but she started to get a bit Liza Minelli's and that turned the viewers off.

the Liza Minelli's is a female version of the Michael Jackson's which is the ability to look weirder the more we hear or see them.

Star also pimped her name for corporations to pay for her wedding... and they did. She had this tacky ass website that advertised for the companies that gave her stuff... Barbara was PISSED. She was asked to stop, and didn't.

Star has alot of $$$... she didn't need to do that. Or to have a zillion dollar wedding.

And, did I mention her husband is gay, and she gets all weird and homophobic when it's mentioned?

36. I know them because of DU, too!
I really watch very little news on TV. I don't trust them, I don't like the entertainment formats of most shows, and for some reason, I just don't get into fake news (not exactly fake, but the kind of stuff Jon Stewart does). I like Stewart, I think Colbert is a brilliant satirist, I just don't get into them. Keith Olbermann has been a favorite of mine since the day he refused to read the Tommy Morrison AIDS story (Bet few remember that), but his show is on a network (I'm not sure which) that I don't want to hear.

So I read websites, AP reports--I try to get as close to the basic facts as I can, so I can decide. I guess that's the real reason--I don't like commentary. I studied history too much to not see through it.

Anthony Bourdain and Samantha Brown are my tv addictions! And Suzanne Wong! How many guys can say that?

6. What exactly happened?
I saw the part of the show yesterday where Jones announced that she was leaving; was that what prompted her to get kicked off today? Walters said that Jones continued to make statements after her farewell, so what does that mean? Did she take some cheap shots at the show DURING the show yesterday? Or what?

It definitely does seem like that show is hanging by a thread. Rosie is coming in two months, but who knows if it will even last that long, the way they're going now.

And yes, I know this isn't the most earth-shattering thing we could be talking about at the moment, but I happened to catch the opening of The View today and was wondering what was going on, so figured I would ask in this thread once I saw it :)

acted like it was her choice (including Star). Now Barb feels she's been outed as a liar, so had to say, look, we knew a long time ago the network didn't want Star, so we said listen, for your dignity, we'll play it however you want to. Now Barb feels betrayed.

So she made those comments to People yesterday after the show? OK, that makes sense now. Even though this all seems so melodramatic, since everyone EVERYWHERE had reported that Jones was not asked to return to The View once her contract expired.

I bet Jones was surprised when she got the call not to show up for work today :) So catty, I love it! I know it's silly in the grand scheme of things, but it still interested me this morning :)

40. She's looked strung out since her "weight loss"
She did need to lose weight for her health, but instead of doing it the HEALTHY way (eating right, exercise, taking months), she did it the gastric bypass way. Now, some people try EVERYTHINg and nothing does work -- they have a metabolic problem (like Carnie Wilson), and need this surgery. But, Star didn't even TRY. Gawd. And, she lost TOO much weight (whereas Carnie Wilson ahs a realistic weight -- about 170 or so, I think), and really does look weird and plastic and strung out...

So, I guess she can go back to lawyering........or gossiping........

Star was the only interesting person on the View. The others are just plain boring. Barbara is too old, can't climb up on the stool gracefully anymore. I don't care how many men she dates, has dated, or will ever date. Hope the View is canceled putting them all out of a job they don't need.

Hasseldorf is another nut case who cannot have spontaneous sex with her husband because she needs a reservation to prepare and shave her legs. Today she described her bed as having a giant cotton condom wrapped around her because she is cold and football over the hill hubby is just too hot.

Barbara was so tiny and so frail looking then, and now it is one year later. Her face looks great because she has "work" done all the time, but she can't do much to hide the fact that she is elderly and pretty frail.

51. I probably have a
different take on this than most around here but it sounds like Star told the truth and bawa is senile.

I rarely watched(I did see Rupert Everert tell people to vote for Kerry in 2004) so I can't be the expert..It also sounds like Star made a lot of DUers mad. I read last night that she was against same sex marriage. If that's true then she's not very enlightened.

Does anyone want to speculate why her contract was not renewed?

Didn't they all go to that big wedding of hers?

63. I rarely saw the show
but when I did, Meredith and Joy were my favorites. The woman from Survivor was in way over her head, and Star Jones always sounded like she was lecturing. I liked her better when she was a legal talking head.

65. i think stat jones changed a lot after her gastric bypass surgery.
i stopped seeing THE VIEW a long time ago, when they began sounding, to my ears at least, like bushoverian talking heads. babawawa seems to have kicked jones out and then wanted it to look like jones left ... that is not how life goes. when you get kicked it hurts and probably jones was hurt by it and babawawa was insulted that jones didn't play her game. tough!

66. Does anyone else remember Barbara
telling Star how pretty she'd be if she lost weight? I'm not defending Star but it's got to mess with a person's mind. She goes and loses all the weight and then they fire her ass. I feel kind of sorry for Star even though I'm not really a fan.

67. Star erased from The View:
ABC Orders Webmaster To Disappear Star Jones

Like a crack team of road pavers steamrolling over every last Star Jones-shaped lump in the asphalt, ABC is to be commended at how quickly and efficiently they managed to erase any memory of the undignified former co-host from all official materials. Today's opening credits on The View featured neither her image nor her name, and now, as the Us Blog points out, the View website has performed yet another surgical reduction procedure on Jones. The people behind Jones' website, on the other hand, have been slower on the draw: The About Star section still lists her as "currently a co-host of The View." The section marked Enjoy "The View," however, appears to have been tampered with, as it now brings you to a recipe for "Star's 'All Star Macaroni & Cheese,'" an orgiastic, five-cheese pasta medley which shall provide small comfort food companionship in the coming long, empty days of unemployment.
