Springsteen's "We Shall Overcome" is good music! Folk songs,
spirituals and protest songs.

1. The music is wonderful, but his voice is almost shot
I love, adore and worship the man--can't tell you how many times I've seen him in concert, own the CD's and DVD's, etc. But his voice has gone from an Old Testament prophet to something alternating between a nasal wheeze, a dusty bark, and a croak. It's a hoot of a CD--closer to New Orleans jazz than folk music--and important from a historical standpoint. But Springsteen the vocalist may be slowly heading for the sunset.

3. I actually wasn't very impressed with the Seeger Sessions...
I mean, honestly, did the world really need another version of "Froggy Went A-Courtin' " ?

5. Don't get me wrong. I love Springsteen...
and, yeah, he's great on road trips. But I'd just as soon throw in "Nebraska" or "Devils and Dust" than this most recent effort.
