Group to broadcast new ad criticizing Jimmy Carter
A new ad questioning the legitimacy of former President
Jimmy Carter's Nobel Peace Prize is backed by a group that includes
rival Nobel Peace Prize candidates Karl Rove and George W. Bush.

The ad shows a picture of Boris Badenov, and says that Carter sort of
looks like him if the light is not very good and you kinda squint
your eyes like this.

The Rove and Bush camps say they had nothing to do with
Americans For Good Things And Against Bad Things or its ads.

...

Um, no link...yet.

7. They are trying to destroy our heroes.
The disparaging JFK documentaries, putting Reagan on the dime, the perpetual Clinton smearfest...

Geobbels and Stalin would be proud.

8. LOL - you have wicked humor!
A question - are any of us so innocent that we believe George W or Karl Rove when they say they have no connection to Americans for Good Things and Against Bad Things, or their ads?;-)

On Edit: I guess it is.
The fact that we have to ask speaks volumes about what kind of wretched people they are.

On edit of edit: Never said I could type...

14. disgusting
I like Jimmy Carter and it makes me angry to see them bashing such a decent man. They can bash Clinton, I am used to it and Clinton had a lot of faults, But Carter has done so much to help people around the world that it makes these petty atacks seem obscene.

The home of yaks, thongs, yaks and crack-smoking squirrels. And don't forget the yaks.

If this had been a serious news article, it would not have been posted in here.

18. Where the hell are the crack-smoking squirrels?
In a highly contorversial move THAT just leap frogged Americans For Good Things and Against Bad Things on the UCS comedy computer rankings.

An in one thread!!!

Too funny but seriously where are the crack-smoking squirrels?

19. I tried to start a crack-smoking squirrel phenomenon in here
It never caught on. Then those damned yaks came along and stole all the attention.

I'm not bitter.

Okay, so maybe I am bitter.

20. Carter is reponsible for the Iraq War. I'm serious. Hear me out.
Carter's grain embargo broke the back of the Soviet economy. Between that and the Afghan war, the USSR lost it's position as a superpower and the Soviet bloc disintegrated. This left only the U.S. as a world power, emboldening otherwise scaredy-cat neocons to embark on an imperialist agenda, which resulted in the Iraq War.
I don't completely blame Carter. Lech Walesa helped to bring down the Soviet Bloc too. But if Carter hadn't stood up to the Soviets with an unpopular trade policy protesting their invasion of Afghanistan (remember the farmers marching on Washington?), things would be a lot different today. Carter should never have done something so earthshaking without ensuring somehow that he remain president for the next 20 years, IMHO.
