I need some good luck vibes, my mom is having surgery thursday
for breast cancer. She is 76 years old and in good health other than that pesky cancer. My sister is a nurse practitioner and is assuring us that odds are my mom will be fine. But it still scares me.

1. OK, good vibes headed your way.
My sister had a lumpectomy and lymphectomy (I think that's what it's called -- she had a few lymph nodes removed, too) almost a decade ago and she's fine.

3. sending positive vibes your way
My mom had breast cancer and was a 17 year survivor when she had a fatal heart attack in 1997. Best wishes to you and your family. Try to keep thinking positive scary as it is. Let us know how everything turns out.

6. Thanks to you and all of the above, it is scary.
My dad is 82 and totally dependent on my mom. If she were to go before him he would be helpless, he can't drive (vision), cook (never could), maintain their house (she does it all).

7. Yes, about 3 miles away from me.
And the hospital she will have the surgery is less than 1/2 a mile away. Thank you for your thoughts.

13. I'm on it, man.
The odds are VERY good for women today.

Your mom will need emotional support after the surgery.

Women are tough, they can handle change better than men can, especially at that age.
