26. Now that's a coincidence for you - when I was at UW,
I took a job as a lowly faculty member at Cornell, midway through my PhD - it didn't work out, but we really liked Ithaca. When the summer gets hot, the place to go swimming to cool off is Flat Rock. It's great - natural setting, babbling water, lots of space, rocks (flat) to flop on for the day. And there's the Cornell dairy store - ice cream to die for! And the apple orchard! We had a friend who was a Professor of Pomology! You can go into the apple barn, inhale the fragrance, check out the sample ("this is our new variety, #294568 - tell us what you think of it") and get excellent cider every month except August. There's a lot to like about Ithaca. And I haven't even touched on downtown Ithaca, or the lake. Congratulations, though - fine school.

2. I Don't Think I Have To
That is an accomplishment on it's own and I'm surprised you "have" to announce the fact in a hotbed of Liberals!

IfI were only forty years younger....

If you decide to stay in NY when you do, I suggest University at Buffalo! (I'm a pitch man, woo!) Seriously, this is a really good school; be sure an post three years from now when you're looking! And congrats!

7. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
That is FANTASTIC! It's a terrific school! It was on my wish list, way back when, but I chickened out, having never been far from home before, and not being assured I'd ever have money to visit on breaks. So, I stayed in Texas. But I did research Cornell back then, and it is a wonderful school. A sincere "way to go!" and best wishes to you on your new venture! :yourock:

30. Class of 1992, here
Congrats!

I expect it's very different from when i was there.

If you speak foreign languages (french, german, chinese, russian, italian, and maybe a few others by now), I'd highly recommend looking into The Language House as an alternative dormatory.

Risley Hall, OTOH, on North Campus (I think that's the name - it's the one that looks like a gothic castle, where the SCA does battle on Sundays) is where the artsie/goth types hang out. Live there if you want to have lots of indiscriminate freaky sex.

What will you be studying? I got my BA in physics.
