My mom's house got hit by lightning
woo wee...did it do a number on her meter, box...etc

Electrician has been there all day.

When it hit...it blew a fixture off the house (light) into the yard....

hit by lightning? I never thought about it before (and hope I never do)! They might put this in the area of "act of God" or -- Zeus, depending on your pantheon. Um, wasn't Zeus the deity that threw around lightning bolts?

3. Yes, most standard homeowner's policies cover lightning
And generally it is mentioned by name. Call your insurance company and double check though, just to make sure.

5. yep she is okay...it took a while though to get it all straightened out
she stayed with me last night...

and it will take at least a few more days of electrical work.
