How HOT is it where you are??
I'm in California and it's 107. And I'm hating it.
I know it's worse in other parts of the country, though.
At least the humidity isn't high...

:(

It's 74 here.

(It's supposed to be almost 90 next week; that's the temperature when Seattleites actually evaporate!)

19. I'm just envious...
When I was a kid I could always sleep in the backyard, go
swimming all day, etc. etc. And, of course, no school.

Being an adult in summer ain't nearly so fun!!

Summer in NY reminds me of the movie "Rear Window" with

30. I've never seen "Rear Window" but I'll check it out for comparisons sake.
Nowadays, though, let's just say if it's hot outside, can you only imagine what it must like to be underground waiting for a subway with no air circulation? Fortunately, I don't have to take the train at certain stops every day, but I can tell you from experience, 2nd Ave. F line service smells like piss-vomit during the summer. And 4th Ave. all lines is a heat stoke waiting to happen. Gawd I love New York!

31. Eeeek-- that's quite a description
"Rear Window" is a Hitchcock suspense movie and it's
set in NY in the summer (though it was filmed in LA).
It's really great and I highly recommend it!!

33. I grew up in Ohio
and have never gotten used to I, but my parents say it's better than have to deal with snow. I tend to disagree. The way I look at it is when your cold you can always add another layer, but sooner or later you are just hot and naked.

28. 8 PM and 103 in the central San Joaquin
And the A/C quit today!!! AAARGH! However, after waiting a few hours, and shading the unit, was able to trip the breakers and get it back on! Meanwhile, this is a rental, and have reported the malfunction. Hopefully someone will be out to fix it soon! (Last year this happened, and the A/C contract people called on a Monday saying they could come out on Thursday...only day of the week they do their contract work in this area. It was over 110 then.)

38. Isn't that always the way?? I hope they come sooner than
Thursday but, perhaps by then, it will have cooled off a bit.
But then, it's always a shock to see the PG&E bill whether it's
summer or winter and whether the AC/heat is working or not!! :(

Renting sucks when you have to depend on someone else (property management and the owner, a cheap hard-ass jerk). Just gor pre-qual'd for a home loan and SOON will be back to homeowner personal headache status and loving it!

PS
The temps are to be in the 100s for next five days...tomorrow predicted 110 :wow:

Since I was gone for most of the the month of June, am hoping my PG&E bill will be low. Had everything turned off except for timer-set lights.

...but it's a perfectly delightful 66 degrees here this evening. It's been a refreshingly cool summer so far, unlike the past several. I was just saying to my husband earlier that this reminds me of one of those old-fashioned Alaska summers that we used to get back in the '70s.
