I did something really stupid
or at least hurtful....

I swore I would not do this, I swore I would..... I did.

Back during the Vietnam War (not a war, a police action, fuck that!) a Captain went MIA. My mother wore a bracelet with his name on it. I stold it and wear it still. There is a date on the bracelet when he went MIA. I looked him up... he spent 7 years as a POW of the VietCong. I read his account.....

Sorry... it's easy to admire a hero, much less easy to know what they suffered.

Khash.

1. I do not understand, my dear Khash......
How is what you did stupid?

I don't get it.....

I grant you....knowing what or how someone suffered is difficult.....

But knowing something like that doesn't make you stupid.

Care to explain?

BTW, check your PM.....

2. Because it hurts, Peggy
It's one thing to admire someone in the abstract and know they suffered. To hear it in their own words.... it's a whole different story.

And I just couldn't leave it alone......

3. Humanity is sometimes costly
You have it. Some do not. Even with the price, you're better off with it... and with knowledge/understand. Makes you more of a human.

Wish I could ease the pain for you a bit. Reading it in their own words... almost like listening to their night terrors. It's tough, but seems to help them to have someone care enough to read/listen. We owe them that much.

Then we strengthen our resolve to fight such wars. Maybe one person will be saved. One person spared because we were moved enough to work for peace, it's good.

4. Being Humane can be painful, sounds like you did something caring
and it has affected you. Yes, it causes pain because it was painful and you care. I know what you mean, sometimes I wish my parents had raised me with simplistic beliefs and the idea that you Never question authority. But they didn't and overall I am better, much better for it, but sometimes it makes things really hard and painful. Cheers and congratulations on finding your mom's MIA/POW.

5. Never regret testing your limits or your compassion.....
You did nothing "wrong". Sometimes life isn't just how we wish it was, but you're doing as you see best...
