I am totally addicted to the Katie Melua CD, Piece By Piece. She is a little like Norah Jones.

1. Butterfly Child
It's fun discovering "new" things, even when they are actually not very new.

I own all their albums and have seen them at least four times in concert. :headbang:

Hell I think I might put on either Blackwater Park or Ghost Reveries next.

8. Eli Jones and the Bare Bones! Excellent, funktastic, soulful.
I haven't seen them live yet but I heard they're awesome. Their ep is actually a live recording and it's amazing. If you like a great funky beat with some old-school soul and blues thrown it you will love this band...

15. T-KASH
Bay area rapper who REALLY has it in for Dumbya. He is associated with Public Enemy and Paris, so he is highly political and very lyrical.

19. Arctic Monkeys is overrated, but still the debut album of the year so far.
As far as other recent stuff, I really dig Built to Spill's new album. And there have been some GREAT sophomore efforts this year, like the new albums by The Coup and Pretty Girls Make Graves.

That's Michelle Branch and some other girl.

Cheyenne Kimball is a 16 year old who's currently starring in an MTV reality series about the making of her latest CD. She also won NBC's "America's Most Talented Kid" competition a few years ago.
