"If you are LOOKING to get a mortgage..." - WTF is with this weird new use
of the phrase "looking to"??

I am hearing it all the time lately and its driving me crazy! Whatever happened to "if you want to get a mortgage" or "if you need a mortgage..." or whatever. Not to specifically refer to mortgages but its all over the place now. " I'm looking to change my life". "My sister is looking to become a nun" - Aaarghhh!

To use "looking to" in lieu of other more appropriate verbs is insane. Who started it, I have to know!

Its irritatingly unspecific.

Chimpy McFuckwad has helped to popularize speaking "folksy". More and more Morans are looking to be just the Asshole-in-Chief.
