My 3 year old is turning into a fashion model!
My daughter is 3 years & 3 months old and is tall enough to reach most of the clothes hanging in her closet. Lately, she seems to like to change clothes between various dresses at least 4-5 times a day like she's a junior fashion model... this is despite my trying to buy toys & learning tools that are generally gender neutral.

And, if we try to stop her from changing clothes... look out!

I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. It was just about a year ago that my wife & I bought a new pair of sandals for her before we picked her up from my mom's house and when she opened the box she squealed "Mew shoes! New shoes!" like somebody winning the showcase on The Price is Right.

I guess despite my desire for her not to be into Barbies and not letting her go to that "Libby Lu" store in the mall where they put all the little girls in make-up & dresses & tiaras and the like, I'm losing the battle.

Oh well, at least she is a leader in her daycare - when she jumped in the mud the other day, the other children followed her into the mud!

1. My daughter is the same way...the leader fashonista
I had to finally limit Abby to one outfit a day...I just couldn't keep up with the laundry and it was getting ridiculous. I went to Goodwill and bought a lot of scarves, hats and dresses for her to play dress up with and that helped a lot. Now if I could just keep her out of my makeup. :eyes:

Now she's 9 and all tomboy. :D

You never know in what direction they will go.

3. Yep -- mine likes several "costume changes" a day, usually.
She's often (not always) a girlie girl and it just cracks me up because I have no idea where the hell that came from ...

4. That's great!
She's just excited that she can dress herself. My boys both did the same thing!

9. Libby Lu
is a store that caters to young girls - they put makeup on young girls, allow them to dress up in clothes, wear tiaras & glitter. It's way too young for makeup, I think.
