Do you know what to wear? I find that this is an incredibly hard question to answer these days because the standard has changed so much. Also, you're going to a different town so that might make a difference too.

18. cool!
good luck.

I seem to remember that there were some great Cuban restaurants there. And there's a big pink Hotel called the Don Cesar(not sure if it's Tampa or St. Pete) where I went to a wedding. It's worth seeing and the restaurant was good. (although this was years ago.) Also I seem to remember some of those cool whack your own seafood type places - sort of more like the Old style Florida.

27. If you're interested in history...
You can go wander around Fort de Soto Park, down at the end of Tierra Verde, and check out the remains of the fort, or sit out there in the afternoon/evening and wait for dolphins to come by.

Go to Haslam's, a massive new/used bookstore way out on Central Ave. I guarantee that you'll find something you like there. Downtown's got a lot of little shops worth exploring, too.

Definitely go down to the Pier and have lunch or dinner at the Columbia. The TooJay's Deli in Baywalk Plaza is pretty good as well, as is the Dan Marino's Grill there. If you go to TooJay's, try the Whitefish Salad sandwich, if you go to Marino's, try the Nut Crusted Mahi.
