Jury Duty and birthdays....
talk about coincidences....

2 years ago I was called for Jury Duty - had to report to the courthouse on December 10. December 10 also happens to be my Dad's birthday

In the mail today I get another notice for jury duty - report date is January 9. January 9 is my Niece's birthday...

I may just slap on a :tinfoilhat: and call it a conspiracy

1. What is it with some and Jury duty?
I have never been called (knock on wood). I have always had a DL and been registered to vote. I know some people who have been called multiple times. Just seems weird... have fun!

2. I got called for JD after I'd moved 1000 miles away
So at least I had a good excuse. ;)

3. I'm 25 years old, and I've been called FOUR times.
The record in my county (I asked the jury babysitter, who knows me WELL by now) is 6 times. The guy who's been called 6 times is in his 70's. I am well on my way to breaking that -- at the current rate, before I turn 30. LOL.

4. I was only really worried once.
I had lived in NYC for a year. While I lived there, a very heinous quadruple murder was committed. I moved back to Wichita after it all happened. When they were getting ready for a trial, they wanted jurors who hadn't been influenced by the news coverage. Since I lived 1500 miles away, I knew very little about it. I was worried if I was selected for jury duty, they would put me on the trial.
Luckily, nothing came.

5. I get called every year, but have never been on a panel
that was actually selected to even go into a courtroom.. I doubt that they would select me, because I have been a victim of a crime (Armed robbery)..
