Good Monday Morning, Crew!

:hi::donut:
Welcome to the Monday edition of the Early Morning Crew thread! :bounce: I hope you had a great weekend and had some time to relax and to have some fun! I worked on Saturday, and it was a good day all around, but I started my nine day vacation yesterday, and had a very easy going day. So, mine was very nice too! :bounce:

And today begins another work week. The weekends just fly by don't they? Hopefully, it will be a good week for ALL of us, working or not.

So, are you ready to get this day (and this new week) started? I hope so because...here we go! :bounce:

3. Good morning Clint
every time your morning thread shows up I look at the watch and see that it is almost time for my lunch break. Your thread always combines with positive feelings. Of course, that you are posting it is a very positive feeling itself

Saturday evening the roses show and firework was really nice. I took pictures. Gonna take them to get developed today. So Thursday or Friday you can expect pictures :)

Yesterday I was lazy all day. Slept a lot. But now I am fit for the new week.

I'm sure it was beautiful and I can't wait to see the pictures! I'm going to take some more pictures today too, so you'll see some new ones tomorrow! Hey, it's OK to be lazy on Sunday. I was lazy too, and that makes us ready for the week! :bounce:

as it was beautiful weather and I stayed inside. But I didn't feel like going out and doing something. Not even going to a nearby park and lay in the sun.

At least I got all my clothes washed. I am so proud :)

OK
you eat in total darkness. You see NOTHING. You have to feel for your food and drink. And you have to concentrate on all other feelings but the eyes. Hearing, touching, smelling, tasting. Before you get escorted to your table you can choose between different menues (vegetarian, fish, meat, surprise). You can tell them what you don't eat at all so that you won't have to eat something you absolutely hate.
They had a "show" in between, where you only could listen. It was a fairy tale story with all the figures from the Grimm fairy tales. Funny.

It was quite an experience. If I ever do it again (as it is expensive) I would concentrate more on the food.

After the dinner they asked what we recognized. Some of it we could name, some of it not at all.

90. Wait a minute ...
you gotta eat in the dark and that costs EXTRA? Sort of like fondue -- you cook it yourself and pay more for the privilege.

It does sound like a great experience. I was curious about the menu but you answered that. How do they escort you to your table? Do they use flashlights at all for that? I would find it very fascinating.

92. You pay for the menu and the show
Edited on Mon Jun-19-06 06:22 AM by MissHoneychurch
just like in a normal restaurant. Except that you eat in darkness.

A waiter/waitress escorts you to your table. Some of them are blind, some of them are not blind. But they don't use a flashlight. First you step in a pre-room where the light is dimmed. The moment the door to the eating room opens, the light in the pre-room goes out. Your waiter comes and you do a polonaise. The waiter goes first and brings you to your table. He helps you to sit down.

And she didn't lift a finger to help me last week, the stupid twit. She's always too involved in her own crap to correctly do what she's supposed to be doing let alone help me with anything. Just wait until somebody is beating up on her--I'll return the favor.

As to the holy roller though, she's been doing OT at other residences and behaving like her usual self. It turns out that one of the clients ( a high functioning one) lodged a complaint with the administration because the holy roller watched her religious programs all day and refused to let the clients watch what they wanted on TV. Holy roller got hauled into the office and reamed out.

45. Well then, we will have to, I don't know, making it illegal not to have
the eleven commandments written on all walls at all times.

After all, if people are happy, they won't vote for McChimpensteakalicous!

(As for the eleventh commandment, it is: "And Lo, screw the rest of that stuff, grab what you can, leave no-one alone, and yell at people that they are hellbound" - it is the republican version.

Will not sleep on the beds without sheets style. (In case you didn't remember, that is from animal farm, shortly followed by the infamous "but some are more equal than others")

40. Good morning, Clintmax!
:donut: :hi:

My weekend was busy, as usual. I unpacked the last box that I HAD to do. The rest is fun stuff if I feel like unpacking some of it. It's good to finally be settled.

Tonight I meet with the builder to get all the details nailed down. :bounce:

The kitties are eating me out of house and home these days. They've increased their food consumption by 50%! But no one's gaining weight ... guess they need the extra for some reason. I have to make the last batch of cat food today and hope it lasts until they ship more next week.

Are you going to go on any day trips during your vacation?

I'm glad you had a good weekend...and you evn unpacked your new computer and got it running! :bounce: I bet it's a blast! I'm sorry that Mister Harley had to come back down here to Florida...how long is he going to be down here?

Hmmm...I wonder why the kitties need that much more food? That's strange isn't it? Bandit seems to have gotten over his problem with the litter box, thank all the gods! Haven't had any problems with it for a while now that I think about it!

Yes, I'm going to take some day trips in the next few days. I want to go to Orlando and Universal and ride all the rides again!

65. The MacBook is awesome!
:bounce: They do think of the neatest things. I forgot to buy a carrying case for it, so I'll be doing that. Meanwhile, I'll have to decide what to do about photo software. Some of the stuff from the Canon CD isn't available for Mac.

I have no idea when Harleydad is coming back ... and neither does he. It was a really hard trip for him to make b/c he wasn't headed anywhere exciting or to me. Usually, looking forward to getting there keeps him excited and wide awake. He's going to work out a schedule with his boss this week to see if he can work from here for a few weeks, then there, etc. ... until they let him telecommute. His boss had recommended that before we left, which sounded hopeful.

WOW! :wow: I'm SO glad Bandit got over his problem! :applause: :woohoo: I was just thinking about that and afraid to ask. YAY! :bounce:

Here's my theory about the kitties (feel free to knock it down) ... they feel better here and that gives them an appetite. And they're pretty active, having to go downstairs to use the kitty box and all. Whatever it is, I hope we can make the food last. :scared:

We didn't go to Orlando once while we lived in FL. Isn't that strange? We've only been once, and that was the winter before we moved down there. I hope you have a great time! :bounce:

69. You know...I still need to call Canon Tech Support...
to have them help me fix the software...I haven't done that yet. I'm glad your MacBook does some neat stuff! Having software not compatible with a mac would be my only concern with owning one.

I think you may be on to something about the kitties appetites. Having to go up and down the stairs all the time IS good exercise, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them running and chasing each other up and down them too! :bounce:

You should have tried to make it to Orlando. There is SO much to do it's crazy!

79. You should call them.
The software is really good.

There's a beta version of something (can't remember what it's called) that lets you run Windows on Macs. I think they're even going to add it to the next version. I think there's currently an emulator that lets you run Windows programs, but this will be different -- a dual boot so you can decide which operating system to run. Of course, if you put Windows on your Mac, you end up with the same old security issues that most people go to Mac in order to get away from. I'll figure out what to do. So far I'm happy with the Mac versions of Microsoft Office and Quicken.

HA! Kitties chasing each other up and down stairs ... These laminated floors are slicker than our shiny tiles were. I can just see them wiping out on that landing (it's a U-shaped staircase).

I would have liked to go to Orlando again. But Harleydad wasn't interested and then I got the chemical sensitivity thing -- can't do crowds. The kids have gone a bunch of times. As a matter of fact, the airmen got some kind of free military pass to all the theme parks in FL and used everyone of them.

No, I don't think I'd put windows on your mac. Dual booting is cool...and I've been thinking about putting Linux on my computer too and have a dual boot machine. But I'm not sure how many programs there are out there compatible with it.

You're probably right about the kitties wiping out at the landing! Though it would be an endless comedy source for you!

87. I had a laptop once
with Windows and OS/2 on it. I had to program in OS/2 and get my mail in Windows (don't remember why). It was strange -- had to put Windows on it first b/c Windows doesn't play well with others and wanted to delete OS/2. They must've found a way around that for Mac. Harleydad always wants to put Linux on our computers. I wish I could remember what he said about the programs running ... but he didn't seem to think it was an issue. He uses Linux at work all the time.

My kitties are already an endless source of comedy. Sabrina learned how to turn on the touch lamps this morning. She was hungry and I wanted to sleep, so she kept turning on the lamp and I kept turning it off ... until I gave up and she won.

That's funny! She's like; *click* "Momma! Get up! Don't you know it's time for breakfast!" Why do cats always win? I would have given up too.

I'd have to find a good partition software and block off some space on my hard drive to use Linux. I think that prevents Windows from wanting to delete it. I don't know.

99. It's more like ...
wake with it on low or I'll touch it again to make it brighter! I don't know why, but they ALWAYS win.

The problem I had only happened if I installed OS/2 first and then tried to put Windows on top of it. Windows didn't care if it was already there and I installed OS/2 last. I would expect it to work the same way with Linux. I had them on separate partitions. Just make sure you back up your system before you try it. I used to do stuff like that all the time, but now the thought of having to update a driver scares me. Use it or loose it, I guess.

I have to get going. The landlord is coming over this morning to check things out and I'm going to putter around ... maybe even wash the bugs off my car. I hope you have a GREAT day! :loveya:  :hi:
