2. I had one
My boys have one now. It's great for shooting crows while they're stealing the dog food....... The bb's just bounce off their wings, but you should hear 'em squawk!

Over 30 years old - refinished the stock, painted the steel, it's like new. Can't wait for my little girl to shoot her own eye out with it!!!

8. My Grandfather Had One
It richoted and I would have lost an eye if I hadn't gotten glasses the week before.

I'll stick with a .45; it's much safer.

12. Re: A Christmas Story
Edited on Fri Dec-12-03 03:42 PM by stopbush
This movie was just released in a special edition widescreen version on DVD. I've never seen it in widescreen, so Santa picked one up to give to the family on Xmas. I can't wait to see if they've cleaned up the somewhat dreary picture from the first DVD issue (though there's a certain patina to that one that gives it a sense of time and nostalgia).

But I'm most interested to see if they've squeezed any more of the Bumpass's smelly hounds into the picture!

Geez, between the Red Rider BB gun and chokin' the chicken, it's amazing that any of us born in the 40s & 50s can see at all.
