Woman knocks her son in the FACE with her ELBOW...
Tonight as we were leaving Walmart after grocery shopping, I look an aisle over in the parking lot, and this kid is screaming, begging for his mother to pay attention to him. She of course is on her cell phone, visibly PISSED OFF for some stupid reason. Next thing I know, She knocks him hard in the FACE with her ELBOW! I was just too stunned. He apparently was too...Then when she lifted him out of the basket, she grabbed his arm just below the shoulder and yanked him out and practically dropped him on the ground. Then when I saw him walk around the car to get in, his little pants were falling off. He was the cutest little boy. :evilfrown: When she drove around her damned cell phone was still in her ear, and she nearly hit a parked car. Good Lord. Why the fuck did she even have those kids if she's just going treat them like crap!?

1. Right now some readers are having horrible flashbacks.
As for your question, I believe it answers itself.

10. And what do I tell them?
I saw a lady hit her kid, but I can't remember what time it was and I didn't get a look at the lady's license plate?

5. Yeah. I'm not terribly surprised either.
And to answer the OP: Some people just don't know how to be parents. They suck.

12. This is not a Walmart issue.
Edited on Sat Jun-17-06 07:10 PM by YellowRubberDuckie
This is a freaking human being issue. The woman wasn't white trash. She was African American. I didn't mention it, because I didn't think I needed to.

8. I hate seeing that.

And I am sorry you had to see it. It breaks your heart, doesn't it? Makes you think about what an amazing person that child could turn out to be, if he didn't have such a horrible asshole for a parent. He still has a chance to turn out great...but it won't be an easy road for him.

I agree with Bike Writer - a call to the police could make a huge difference in that child's life.

11. I was soooo stunned.
I wanted to go over and just take him. He was such a cutie pie. But then I'd probably have been locked up for kidnapping, and nothing would have been done to her for doing what she did.

18. seriously, next time you see that happen:
1)write the plate down
2)try to remember the people
3)CALL THE COPS

People never speak up because they're afraid of it being a mistake a pissing the other people off-- but you HAVE to do it.

19. I think the worst part about it was she was just so pissed about nothing.
She was on her cell, and he's a little kid, so he's screaming MOMMY MOMMY MOMMY...and she just lost it. She wasn't paying any attention to him or his brother, and when he came walking around their car with his pants around his butt, I almost grabbed him.

20. It's happening more
People are under terrible stess--I'm not trying to let the woman off the hook-- and people have kids when they shouldn't or when they aren't ready. I think this is just increasing more...sadly.

22. May I suggest - the next time you witness child abuse like that:
Edited on Sun Jun-18-06 09:20 PM by Joan_Alpern
write down the womans license plate number and report it

There is an 800 phone number in every state where reports may be filed anonymously. EVERY REPORT must be investigated within 24 hours! The situation for that child will only worsen without intervention. I was an investigator for Child Protective Services. You could be saving his life!
