Does anyone watch Everwood on the WB?
I asked this a while ago in the General Discussion but the thread was quickly swept under. I think I was in the wrong forum.

I love the show. I very rarely watch TV. In fact, this is the only show I make sure I see (or even tape) every week. My guilty pleasure show is Survivor but I don't mind if I miss it.

Just seeing if I am alone on here. I always worry the show will get canceled.

1. your not alone....
myself and my g/f are avid fans of the show (survivor too actually)

there was panic in our house when CTV dropped it after season one (but luckily another channel picked it up)

its a great show ~ a break from crime dramas and violence etc yet still deals with some relevant topics its almost like the tv people are listening to us when we get shows like this and "joan of arcadia"

long may they run (as long as the writing keeps up to its par)

4. my husband just rolls his eyes
It is a guilty pleasure for me... I like the characters and the story lines, generally; the one with James Earl Jones as a jazz piano- loving- miner was quite good, if a little overwrought. I love Treat Williams and his son's character is so interesting. I also liked Joan of Arcadia the one time I saw it. Plus the Gilmore Girls. ( that has the greatest dialogue, almost as good as Old West Wings.) GG is witty and has occasional alternative music references. Yes, I am in danger or watching a bit too much TV, but some of these shows are the only ones worth watching.

6. Stop and imagin five typical frat guys sitting around
drinking beer and wondering where Amy has gone to, and if Dr. Brown with end up with Linda Abbot or the lady n next door. (not to mention WTF happend to the baby she was pregnate with the during that start of the first season?"
Needless to say we don't tell anyone ever, it is our dirty little secret.

Everwood is the best written show on tv. The characters are so "real." Can't you just picture someone you know just like each one of them? And I love the story line with Amy struggling through depression. That is EXACTLY right. And now the Doc may have a love interest who is HIV +. Love it. So real life.

In the episode when Linda Abbott told her mother she was +. I cried (yes actually had tears) when it ended and it showed her mom breaking down with her husband. I had to call my mom. Absolutley just like my life.

9.  BTW, I think you have one of the best names here,
Leviathan Crumbling. Great image. I think it is my favorite, although I like Screaming Lord Byron's name a lot too. I like poetic and metaphoric names.

13. Real? Well, sort of...
I watch "Everwood" regularly. However, just like Gilmore Girls, Dawson's Creek, and countless others...what teenagers talk like that?!? None that I've ever known, and I've taught quite a few in my time.

15. Yeah, who talks like that?
I saw Dawson's once when my house guest wanted to see it. Those teens' dialogue was like that of very intelligent, well read middle aged people, with superiority complexes.

I just kept saying, "18 year olds don't talk that way!", but we had to see the whole thing. But only once.

11. Yep...Oh, and Amy Abbott?...
Get the fuck over it, Miss Thang! Or at least develop a REAL maladaptive coping skill for your grief, like ComaBoy's daddy did--I'm sure he'd buy you a fifth outta loyalty.

(Before I get pounced on, I actually think this storyline is very effectively written and acted. I'm just joshin!)

Her storyline is one of the most realistic portrayls of a teen girl going down a depression spiral I have seen on tv. Every parent of a teen girl should watch to see the signs.

On edit: every parent of any teen should watch. Boys can be depressed too and often show some of the same signs.

14. I have to admit it. My wife and I are both hooked.
BUt my sexist hook sunk deeper when they added Marcia Cross ( Linda Abbott) to the cast. She's on my "would do" list.

I wonder what my wife's current tolerance of my "would do list" would be If I actually got the chance to "do" Marcia? But then, Treat WIlliams is on her list.
