Tiramisu question...
I'm making it for company tomorrow night and I wonder how it should best be served. Would it be advisable to bake it tonight and refrigerate it, or would I be better off baking it tomorrow and serving it promptly? I've never made it before, so I've no idea, but I'm thinking it might get soggy if it sits?

6. I ask because
You don't bake tiramisu, but usually you chill it for at least 2 or 3 hours after prep before serving.

8. I have to bake the cake part that is equivalent to the lady fingers
typically used. So yeah, I don't actually bake the whole thing.

I swear I really do have an IQ well above 100, but I get easily confused!

So I'm supposed to talk to myself?

Maybe 2 pm naps aren't a good idea for me.

7. Um.
It's made with hot milk sponge cake, not ladyfingers. Is that relevant? The recipe just calls it plain old "Tiramisu," and describes a cake-like version, which is descriptive of the only type I've ever had. What's the diff?

9. Well
if you're asking about baking, you don't bake tiramisu. But, if you're making it with cake, and you're making the cake yourself, you'd have to bake that, so it makes sense.

But once it's all put together, you just chill it for a few hours, no baking required. I've heard anything from 2 hours to overnight for chill times. :)

12. Gotcha!
My brain is no longer attempting to fire the extra cylinders. Thanks. I hate to use them unless I can't find my keys or my car, or something.

10. You could save yourself the step of baking
and buy ladyfingers from the store and use those in place of the cake. But definitely refrigerate overnight if you do it that way.
