My flight to Paris takes off in exactly one week - two questions:

I am connecting through Germany...will the World Cup be over by then?

Also, any suggestions as to what I should do/see there besides the obvious?

1. No. It'll continue until July 9th

But as you got a flight, I don't see how the world cup would have an impact on your trip. Well, except exposure to soccer-based advertising.

2. Man...I was hoping it would be over. Yeah, I already have my ticket but

I'm concerned about delays/massive amounts of people everywhere.

I would also be worried about hijacking but I figure anyone would probably hijack an outbound flight as with 9/11.

There are practically no delays because of the event. You''ll see fans, but that should be about it.


As to hijackings: according to statistics, there is a far higher chance to have an accident while trying to evade a possible hijacking, than to get into an actual hijacking.
