4. I went to the carpet store the other day to buy....

a remnant for the bedroom..

....the salesman was selling a customer gold 'shag' carpeting.
The customer was surprised to learn that he couldn't use the beater bar while running his vacuum on the shag....
He was even more surprised when both the salesman and I told him he better get a 'carpet rake'.

7. About 8 years ago,

I got caught up in a blizzard in northern Alberta and stopped for the night at a motel in a very small town.

The sign said "renovated".

My room had a shag carpet - orange, and an avocado green bedspread. I felt like I'd just walked into a time warp.

I don't know if they were just ahead of the 70's nostalgia trend, or if it was the sign itself that was renovated. :shrug:

9. What are people thinking today

fung whoosh or whatever? Back in the day, no electronics to dominate our lives. Only albums and 8-tracks. we spent time with our friends in person, called each other on the phone and thought color TV was cool.

Today, people are always connected, almost as if it's a phobia.

I wish we could find a middle ground again.
