WTF? Today's the day the city decides to tear up our street!
Edited on Tue Jun-13-06 03:12 PM by NewWaveChick1981
OK, the city where I live had our street slated to be repaved TWO YEARS AGO. They paved one half of the street (the other half across the main road that crosses it) during that time. They left our side alone for two freakin' years after we were promised it would be repaved many times. :grr: Yeah, right. I had to call the city about something else in March, and I nonchalantly asked about when the job would be finished. They said, "All paving projects have been put on hold because of budget issues." Really, now? :eyes: Well, the trucks and equipment and road workers out in front of my house would say differently! I work out of my house, and from my vantage point, it sure as hell sounds like paving. Hmmm.... maybe the workers volunteered or something....

Needless to say, it's loud and the road is now completely torn up from one end to the other (on our side---NOT the other privileged side that got done two years ago!). Our neighbors weren't aware they were going to repave today either. All I know is that when I went out to run errands at lunch, there were "NO PARKING" consruction signs on both sides of the street.

My tax dollars at work.... :eyes:
