World Cup Soccer - am I the only one in the lounge who doesn't care

Hell, civil wars are being postponed over this! How can you not love anything that could do that?

3. I dated a Moroccan Soccer player for 2 years

I tried watching the game and gave it my all even though I was overwhelming bored by it (he was a goalie and did some professional indoor soccer). When he refused to go to one baseball game with me even though I was paying for everything - I knew the relationship was doomed!

I was stationed in Europe for almost 3 years, I saw violence over soccer( football ) games.

I worked in a NATO unit, fights would occur amoung various groups during World Cup.


I never could see the excitement over a game.

I don't like football - and so when it gets to these major tournaments I really start to dislike it because people decide that everybody has to be obsessed with it and start to talk at one about it.

But on the other hand I also don't like American football so I'm not with you there.

I have to say - I've hidden more threads in the Lounge since the football World Cup began than in my entire time on D.U. to that point.
