Non-Allergenic Kitties
http://www.allerca.com/

ALLERCA has produced the world’s first scientifically-proven hypoallergenic cats. This section provides more information on why an ALLERCA cat is the ideal companion for people with feline allergies. Please also take our quick survey and help us decide future breeds of hypoallergenic cats.

This was postted on The Register, a tech news site and is authentic as far as I know.

1. yeah...at $4000 a kitten...
my fiancee and I love cats, but she's allergic...this'd be great for us...assuming that the cats are otherwise healthy, of course. But, $4000 for a KITTEN?

5. yeah...I doubt we'll spend $4000 on a kitten.
My fiancee doesn't like the curly rex fur...I don't know about Abyssinian...if they're non-allergy inducing, they're certainly good looking cats.

8. look at Petfinder.com ...
to search for rescues by breed and location.
they also have a breed selector link that'll tell you what breeds are low allergy potential.
also, every breed pretty much has it's own rescue organization, and you can get on their wait list. (Cornish have the Crexphiles.)
i know all this because i was really concerned about getting two cats, and finding out later they made me too sick. so i couldn't leave it to chance.
how can your boyfriend not totally love the crex coat? that's insane. actually bred queens often have less coat, and mine only have waves on their chest and flanks. so far. they're a bit ugly but have great personalities.

fiancee with 3 "e"s.

(a guy is fiance with one "e" - not that most people seem to know that)

But, when we're ready for cats, I'll look up petfinder, thanks.

9. that's standard. people have to be checked out and pay a lot more
for a cat they can breed.
